Diagnosing the Problem
Our first priority is to take an accurate case history of your problem. This is a vital first step in ascertaining the nature of your problem. It may be helpful to bring a list of your symptoms to ensure that nothing is forgotten or missed. If you have already had investiagtions at the hospital it may help to bring the details with you.
Following the case history we will conduct a thorough examination. This will consist of a range of orthopaedic, neurological, biophysical and other examinations which are specifically chiropractic orientated.
Other Sources that May Assist in Diagnosis
X-Rays are requested via the patients GP and we normally refer requests for MRI scans to Somerset MRI at Bridgewater as these represent best value. DEXA scans are performed on request at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Ultrasound scans are performed at the Nuffield Hospital. Excessive medical imaging is usually not necessary and many patients will require none. All these procedures (if required) are helpful in providing an accurate diagnosis.
